Hi, I’m Jennifer
(but you can call me Jenn) – introverted photographer/wife/mom of three girls. I love my family, Mexican food, Disneyworld, DIY, dessert, a good glass of Riesling. I strive to create honest images of your family’s personalities, emotions, and connections that you will treasure for years to come.
I have never been very drawn to photographing a family in their home, I much preferred being outdoors for a family shoot. I think I was worried the house in the background wouldn’t be “instagram worthy”, or the light wouldn’t be good, etc. But an amazing photographer recently inspired me to look at in-home sessions a little bit differently. She spoke about how when we have family photos done, we are doing them for ourselves- for our albums, for our Christmas cards, for our walls. But when are children are grown, they will care less about the posed “Christmas Card” photos, and more about the snapshots of their home and family that make up their memories as a child. I had never before had any desire to do a ‘family session’ in a house, but I immediately wanted to try after hearing that statement. So I asked an awesome friend- who happens to be planning to move to a new home before long- if I could experiment on her fun family a bit. I set out not to pose them or only photograph them in perfect light, but to preserve some memories of their home and how they lived in it. It was so fun and amazing, I can’t wait to do it again!
Who else wants to preserve some memories in their home?
XO jenn
